Amazing linkage from the internet. Try again

So I”m currently in the process of breaking my website and then putting it back together and trying it all over again. This particular post broke it properly the other day, but the links are good so bugger it. Here they are again.

Piclens
A Firefox extension to turn web pages with loads of images into a rather sexy 3Dish experience.
Beatboxing Dog
A nice piece of viral for what I assume is a telephone company. A cute spin on Beatboxing.
Spiderwick Chronicles
A beautifully executed movie site. Quite immersive with lots of hidden goodies to find.
Keming Noun
The result of improper kerning. hee hee, Yes I’m a type dork.
Redbull Flugtag
Very cool piece of flash / papervision 3D to accompany Red Bull’s Birdman rally type thing, I could lose hours on this.
More Porn via the onion
Pornography-desensitized populace demands new orifice to look at.
I’m a freak for chairs
Flickr set of every chair at the Visual Studies workshop. Not sure what the Visual studies workshop was but I do love chairs and there are some very nice examples here.
Some very nice photos
I love the shot of the flag and ball in the roadtrip section which Mark assures me was taken by chance. Very Nice!

Time stops at Grand Central Station

Very cool flash mob in New York City. I don’t normally rock on flash mobs but this is a really nice idea, beautifully executed. Thanks Bec for the link.

Opportunity lost

Bold laundry liquid packaging
Too hard.

As I load the washing machine with another weeks dirty laundry tonight, I find myself guessing, yet again, how much 100mls of Bold 2 in 1 Laundry detergent actually is. Is it one cap full? No, two? Maybe three? Nah, that’s too much surely!

Come on guys, other brands have managed to work this one out, Normal load equals one cap full! Heavy, one and a half. Of course, this does require a redesign of the existing bottle, but really, this little piece of usability has spoiled my brand experience and I wont be buying Bold again!

And as a side note, why is everyone so freaking happy on Laundry detergent websites? It’s Laundry!

Living at the bleeding edge of technology

Doing some stuff involving YouTube at work, Tristan and I had a tinker with uploading our very own video(Above). Using the quick capture tool on YouTube is dead easy. If I had more interesting things to say I might possibly consider becoming a vlogger, although it just sounds crap. Vlogger urghh! Anyway what I find amazing is that it’s been viewed 50 odd times and it’s shit! Two people have even commented on it. hehe. Next up videos of cats falling off chairs!

On getting things done

There seems to be a lot of talk on the internet about lifehacks and getting things done, people talking about the various methods you can use to stay on top of things, asking questions about which method is better and the what not. I am quite interested in the idea and definitely up for being more productive so had a bit of a look into some of the ideas. Turns out the 43 folders approach is actually quite an in depth method with actual folders and lists and acronyms and lots of books written on it. A little too much info for me.

While I totally salute the idea of being more productive, and there is some quite interesting content on the above sites, isn’t blogging about “what text files you use” a little counter productive to actually getting something done? Or am I missing the point? I mean really, it’s taken me ten minutes to write this. That’s time I could have spent picking the lint from my belly button or getting on top of other pressing matters.
