Bangkok

We spent three days in Bangkok before getting scammed word for word out of the guide book on our bus trip to Cambodia. The three days we spent in Bangkok were pretty cool.

We stayed fairly close to Khao San Rd with the rest of the tourists.

On the second Day we ventured into Chinatown with Paul in search of Yum Cha. We eventually found some and then wandered through the backstreets and market stalls eventually finding a boat warf and were able to catch a ferry almost all the way back to the guesthouse, the only obstacle was a gazillion lane road that we had to cross in a very frogger like way.

On the third day we looked into getting our bus tickets to Cambodia (the great bus scam) but thats a story for another time. After spending a fair part of the day organising the trip, we decided to go for a walk down by the water.

Having pretty well written the day off we stumbled upon this cool park that was full of locals and hardly any tourists. Given that it was perhaps only 1km from Khoa San we were blown away. It seemed to be an after work / school crowd. Kids Skating, people juggling and about 100+ people doing aerobics to Hi NRG pop choons. Very cool.

Also in the Park were a Breakdance Crew called “ínside switch” being filmed for a tv show. Was very funny watching them get filmed and how long it actally takes to get, what would have been, a 5 minute slot done.

The park was very cool and I think we’ll spend some time there when we get back to Bangkok. I’ll put up some stuff about Cambodia, Angkor, Phnom Penh and the Beach soon. Cheers…
