Haven’t been particularly inspired to take any photos for a while

Haven’t posted anything in ages, haven’t even been particularly inspired to take any photos for a while. Not sure why, maybe just busy at work or something. I have, however, been rocking on my bike and after a couple of falls, am beginning to get used to being locked into my pedals / cleats.

This pic was taken after racing across Waterloo bridge and scrambling over fences in the afore mentioned cleats to catch the sunset before it was gone. I had about 2 minutes of amazing light before it all started to fade and then it was back to the trip home.

DSC_2336

This is the new block quote that should sit below image and to the right.

This photo is much more about testing new site templates than the actual image. The shot however was taken at the time trials for the Tour de France in London. I think this was my favorite of the day just because the cyclist is actually looking at the camera. Anyway, if the new templates work. this image will be larger and take up two columns where previous images took one. Let’s see shall we.

Noisy Ladybug

close up image of a ladybug

A quick close up of a lady bug. Still playing around with close up filters. Unfortunately I had to use quite a high iso as she kept on bloody moving so the pic has come out quite noisy. Not a great shot but thought I’d post in anyway.

A little more Husky in the morning

Huskisson Beach at sunrise

Another one from the land down under. Jades parents happen to live a five minute walk from one of the most beautiful beaches in Australia (well I think so anyway). This was taken on the same morning as this one. With only a little post production to remove some seaweed.

Husky is definitely a favourite spot to take photos for me. I think it may have something to do with the fact that being a 5 minute walk away makes it very easy to get up pre dawn and be on the beach before sunrise. That and the fact that you can be the only person on the beach And see dolphins!

If only I could make the same effort to get down to Battersea park for sunrise I could have a favourite spot 5 minutes from home in London. Maybe this weekend? Let’s see

Sunrise in Husky

Sounds kind sexy, and it is, but not in that way. Bracketed long exposures merged in Photoshop. I don’t have a graduate filter (yet) so I took a bunch of exposures and just masked it half and half in good old Photoshop. Feels kinda like cheating though, I feel cheap and dirty, don’t look at me.

No really, I love Huskisson, especially at dawn. The beach is just so beautiful when it’s quiet. The rock formations there are great, this composition doesn’t really do them justice, but it’s all I got. I guess I’ll just have to go back. Poor me!
